Stage 3: Machining
Stage 2: CAM
Stage 1: CAD
We CAD, CAM, and Machine
CADCAM can machine one off items for you but does not production runs. We use both CNC lathes and CNC milling machines to create your part.

Our current capabilities include -
CNC turning and threading;
CNC Broaching;
CNC 1,2, 3 and 4 sided Milling; and
CNC 4th axis Rotary and Indexing.

CADCAM can also supply and support you with CNC 3 axis mills or CNC lathes
CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) is the next step and involves taking the 3D model or 2D drawings, or both, and generating machine code language that will instruct the CNC (Computer Numeric Controlled) milling and lathe machines how to create your part.

Once the machine instructions (G-Code) have been written, we then run a machining simulation which tells us how long a machining and the job will take. This allows CADCAM to provide a quote based on a per hour cost of machine time, and enables us to check for machining deviations from the original specification.

If you own a CNC we can also program to use your equipment.
The first stage of any creation is to formalise the design into drawings so that what you want to make can be understood by all.

At CADCAM we do this by creating a 3D solid model of your item. This can be from drawings, sketches, photos, a physical object, what you explain, or an already created 3D object file.

Once a 3D solid model to exact scale has been created, 2D engineering drawings are produced containing all the size and dimension specifications needed for creating the object.

Any 2D drawings need to be approved and signed off by you before any machining can occur. You will also need to discuss what material you want your item made from.

At the end of Stage 1, CADCAM will advise you on the size of stock needed and can source the material to be used for you. However, we will always encourage you to supply your own raw material.
CADCAM Machining specialise in a three stage process (CAD CAM Machining) to help you create the item you want.

Your item could be:
Prototyping: Something you have invented and now you need a sample, model or more professionally produced product
Reverse Engineering: A rare part or component that you cannot easily purchase, so you need to create it
Freehand: An object or deign you want to make either for you or by you.

CADCAM Machining specializes in one off items and empowering individuals and small business. We love is seeing your unique idea or items come to life, so dont be shy, just ask!
